Shore lark

With just a hint of summer plumage starting to show through on its face I think this is a great winter visitor and it is a shame that they do not remain for the year.

Turnstone

These are such obliging birds I cannot turn down a opportunity to grab a picture.........

Snow buntings

A trip to Salthouse in winter rarely disappoints and the buntings were very confiding.

The dun cow (nearly)

A trip to Kelling was fairly uneventful but we did see this cow which had been for a drink in the pond in its field and aparently come perilously close to being stuck in the mire. The marks higher on her back were from the swishing of her tail

Tufted duck chick

having a good stretch on a beautiful day at Cley-next-the-sea. I should have put this picture with the one of it's mother that appears earlier on the blog

seal pup

Lesley found this little chap on the beach at Kelling and thought it was dead, when she approached for a closer look he woke up from his sunbathing and disappeared in to the waves with alacrity and then watched us instead

Whitethroats

taken on the coast near Kelling, there were lots of them and they were easily the most common warblers about

Little stint

One of our smallest visiting waders and usually very approachable, however whilst they are nesting along the coast of N.Norway / Russia etc, if you approach the nest the male will hover in front of you and if you get too near he will hit you on the nose with his beak which can be quite painful. this one was at Titchwell.

Snow bunting

One of a flock attracted to grain put out for them at Cley-next-the-sea, they were unconcerned by a quartet of photographers clicking away ten metres from them.
